Notes to assist in completing the Water calculator.

The following calculator is based on the Water Efficiency Calculator for new dwellings that has been devised by the Department for Communities and Local Government.

ASSENT Building Control has produced this in order to assist clients in satisfying the legal requirements and we welcome any feedback that you may have regarding it.

It can be used to demonstrate compliance with Part G [Hygiene] of the Building Regulations.

In order to access the calculator the user first needs to enter the information about the dwelling at the front.

Once the calculator has been accessed then the data can be entered directly into Table 1 or the multiple fittings section of Table 2 can be accessed by clicking on the relevant multiple fittings icon.

The calculator will give a running total calculated use as the data entry progresses. If the maximum of 125 litres per person per day is exceeded then the total will appear in RED if the total is below this figure this will appear in GREEN.

It must be noted that the Code for sustainable Homes has more exacting standards than the Building Regulations and whilst this can be used to that end the default figure are set at the Building Regulation maximum.

Once the calculation is complete the the user needs to click the SAVE button at the end of the calculator below Table 5.

The result can the n be either e-mailed or printed out.
