Meet Assent Director of Operations, Lee Ibbotson

Meet Assent Director of Operations, Lee Ibbotson
23rd April 2024

As part of our #TeamTuesday series, each week we ask team members across Assent, Xact and Clarke Banks a few get-to-know you questions. Next up in the spotlight is Lee Ibbotson:

What is your role at Assent and what are your Accountabilities?

As Director of Operations, I have overall accountability for all operational aspects of company strategy, in addition to taking ownership for the day to day operations of the business.  Whilst BSR registration is currently taking up a huge part of everybody’s time right now, there’s also lots of exciting projects that we are progressing, that I am certain will add real value to the business and colleagues alike.

What is your background prior to Assent?

I have over 20 years of senior leadership experience, working both nationally and internationally for blue chip organisations, in addition to working for start up, investor lead companies.  Whilst I do not have a background in Building Control, I am a fast learner and consider myself to be very fortunate to be surrounded by a team of experts, who I can turn to, whenever I need any advice.

Who do you Line Manage?

I have overall accountability for the Operations team, so my line reports are Jane Keely, Chris Varley, Marc Charlesworth, Miguel Taylor, Stephen Woodall, Steve Burridge and Michael Linton.  Additionally, I am the primary contact for the Associate offices, acting as a conduit, to support with resolving any queries across the network.

What do you enjoy doing when not working?

I have a variety of interests outside of work.  I enjoy, hiking, cycling and am something of a DIY enthusiast although my wife tells me that in my case, DIY stands for Destroy it Yourself!    I am married to my wife Olga and have two daughters, Maria and Anna and whilst I have my hobbies and interests, the majority of my time outside of work is spent with my family.
