John Dilley


John began his career in building control in 1987 at Wakefield District Council, progressing rapidly to become a Senior Surveyor, working on complex projects with multinational brands such as Coca Cola and Marks & Spencer. He was also the Safety Officer for the Wakefield Wildcats from 1987-2000.

John made his move into the commercial sector joining STMC and went on to become a Project Manager at Butler and Young in 2004. He teamed up with Richard Batte to form Assent Building Control in 2005, assuming overall management and coordination of the building regulations submission.

An experienced leader, John’s key responsibilities include the provision of strategic direction, resource allocation and coordination and performance management against KPIs. A natural communicator, John is adept at client liaison and ensuring that project objectives are thoroughly understood and aligned throughout the entire build process.

Underground gallery for West Yorkshire Sculpture Park

HMP Wealstun - new build and refurbishment of existing cell blocks

Huddersfield University - Performance Centre, Oldham Campus

Liverpool John Moore University - six storey new technology teaching block
