Assent have been appointed as Building Control Approved Inspectors because of our expertise and resources at being able to deal with a new and innovative structure.
The whole building is constructed out of reinforced concrete and has over 30,700 Sq meters of floor area, and was a fire engineered design in order to ensure that all aspects were considered.
The contractors, Wates construction are working closely with Assent to ensure that not only is the building completed on time but is compliant as well.
The architects are Harris Partnership of Wakefield who work closely with Assent on a number of projects.

Leeds Arena Hilton
Assent Building Control provided the building control function for Hilton Leeds Arena. The 14 storey 223 bedroom hotel is located in the centre of Leeds on a very tight site.
The complex nature of the site and the hotel layout necessitated a flexible fire engineering approach to be employed.
Distribution Centre, Marks & Spencer, Bradford
Assent Building Control worked with International business park developer ProLogis on the first phase of a £100 million distribution centre in Bradford.
The 1.1 million sq ft building developed for Marks & Spencer by ProLogis is let to the retail giant which is fitting out its latest distribution centre, which will achieve a BREEAM excellent rating.
Forge Bank, Halton
Assent Building Control are working with Eco Arc to provide the Building Control function on a bespoke development of sustainable housing near Lancaster.
The completed project will be an intergenerational cohousing community at Forge Bank, Halton that will encourage social interaction and will be built on ecological values. It will include around 25 homes with community facilities and workshop/office space.
DHL, Nimbus Park, Thorne

Extended fire escape distances and high fire loads necessitated review under BS9999 to demonstrate adequate levels of fire safety could be achieved using sprinkler protection and comprehensive fire detection provision.
Napoleons Casino, Sheffield
Assent Building Control worked with Hull based Architects Access Architecture to provide the building control function on the recent refurbishment of Napoleons Casino on Ecclesall Road in Sheffield.
The £1.5 million refurbishment provides increased restaurant covers allowing diners to look over the busy high street, and enjoy a meal without having to be a member of the Casino.
City Inn, Leeds
Assent Building Control provided the building control function for City Inn at its Leeds City Centre 4 Star Hotel. The 333 roomed Leeds hotel is the centre piece in the redevelopment of the historic canal-side destination at Granary Wharf. The hotel is flanked by two unique high quality apartment buildings, the landmark building which was designed with the architects Allies and Morrison overlooks the River Aire and the Leeds Liverpool Canal.

Assent Building Control worked with Broadway Malyan on the major redevelopment of Stockport Aquinas College.
From the outset Assent worked with Broadway Malyan's design philosophy revolving around the principle that good quality buildings are delivered through a process rather than a stylistic approach.

Assent Building Control worked Jefferson Sheard Architects to deliver the new campus for Sheffield City College.
University of Manchester
Assent Building Control is working with the University of Manchester and Sheppard Robson Architects to development of the University’s iconic £30 million ‘Learning Commons’ .
The building which aims to provide a world-class 21st century learning environment for students at the University, replaces the former Refectory and Moberly Tower buildings which are flanked by Oxford Road, Lime Grove and Burlington Street.
