Statement from Iain Thomson, CEO of Assent
I am incredibly saddened to announce the death of Trevor Norwood, Director at Xact Consultancy and Training. Trevor passed away suddenly in the early hours of Tuesday, 16 January, at home with his wife. This news has come as a shock to all of us at Assent, and we are supporting Trevor’s colleagues at Xact during this difficult time.
Trevor was an instrumental figure in fire safety and was passionate about fire safety training, which has been a huge part of building Xact into the company it is today.
When Xact Training and Consultancy was purchased by Assent, one of the key aspects of this process was ensuring the long-term future of the excellent work that Trevor had been spearheading. Our commitment to his memory is that this work will continue under Assent with the team he has built, and who shared his vision, still very much involved.
I’m sure you will join me in sending his family, friends and colleagues all our sincere condolences and support at this time.”
Kelly Nock, Operations Manager at Xact has worked closely with Trevor for many years. She describes his role in the fire community as influential and closely entwined with the ongoing development of the fire safety industry. She added,
“Trevor was known for his drive and dedication to ensuring that fire safety training should be accessible for everyone. He surrounded himself with people who believed in his vision and helped shape the business into what it is today. Trevor was an inspirational mentor for many of our current and previous employees and a well-loved colleague. He will be sadly missed.”
