We were all saddened to learn our colleague John Brand, Associate of the Broughton Astley office, passed away over the Christmas period. John was a wonderful man and will be missed very much.
Professionally John’s career spanned both public and private sector building control, having worked as a Principal Building Control Officer for Leicester City Council Building Control before joining Butler & Young and eventually moving onto his Associate role here at Assent in 2008.
John was well-respected and a great Manager and Associate – the words here from his colleagues and peers are testament to that.
Jayne Mead, Office Manager, Leicester
John was an incredible person to work for. He was extremely compassionate, considerate and believed that family always came first in every situation.
He was very successful in his profession and well respected by his Associates, Clients and everyone who worked with him. He enjoyed his work and took time to talk to people. There was always a fascinating story to share or a laugh to be had.
John will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
Peter Cox, Associate, Market Harborough
I have known John since 1988, when we worked together at Leicester City Council Building Control, he was great fun - a real character and joker. He always looked after his team no matter what, looked out for the guys, never had a bad word for anyone, told it as it was – he was very straightforward.
I met him again recently and we had a great catch up, same old John. I am very shocked by the news of his passing, which is a great loss, both as a friend and Assent colleague.
Mark Greening, Chartered Building Control Surveyor, Leicester
John was a highly respected successful chartered building control surveyor and business man. He was a kind, loyal a trustworthy gentleman. John is held in high regard by friends, family, clients, associates and industry professionals alike. John will be dearly missed by all who knew him and those who had the pleasure to work with him.
Our thoughts are with John’s family, friends and colleagues at this sad time – he will be greatly missed.
John's family selected the British Heart Foundation as their chosen charity. If you would like to make a donation please visit the British Heart Foundation website.
